“People think, oh scooters, cute,” says Kristen Frazer, who cofounded the Second to Last Club for lovers of Vespas, Lambrettas, and other motorini with her husband, Moe Balazs, a decade ago. “But we tend to be a wild bunch of people.” To mark the group’s tenth anniversary they’re getting scooter fans together this weekend for the Slaughterhouse 10 Scooter Rally. There’s a party Thursday, September 2, at 9 PM at El Gato Negro, 1461 W. Irving Park, with giveaways, free barbecue, and music from Lord Mike’s Dirty Calypsonians, but the rally officially kicks off tonight at 9 at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia. On Saturday the pack will meet for breakfast at 11 at Jinx Cafe, 1928 W. Division, followed by a 12:30 ride that winds up with a cookout at Montrose Beach. The revelry continues that evening at Happy Village, 1059 N. Wolcott, where the bands Waxon 7 and Mega Super Ultra will play after 9. Admission to everything is free; call 773-836-8019.

The drag troupe the Chicago Kings meets another kind of king tonight at the Empty Bottle: Elvis impersonator Patty Elvis. Also: musicians Ember Swift and Ellen Rosner, the Lickety Split Radical Cheerleaders, and DJ Pussy Galore. It’s a benefit for the International Drag King Extravaganza, a three-day conference set for October. The show starts at 10 at the Bottle, 1035 N. Western, 773-276-3600; it’s $10.

6 MONDY DJs pledge to spin a “festering mix of all things new and potentially interesting” at Reckless Records’ New Release Ping-Pong Party, where employees of the record store will officiate at an alcohol-enhanced table tennis tournament. Schubas is making this party a monthly event.

9 THURSDAY At tonight’s Dance With the Dancers, members of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago step off the stage and onto the floor to show the rest of us some Latin moves. It’s from 6 to 8:30 at Aldo Castillo, 233 W. Huron, and it’s $40, which includes drinks and hors d’oeuvres, plus a chance to win a trip to New York to see the troupe in action. Call 312-850-9744, ext. 199.
