This annual event, running 9/8-9/11, showcases the work of emerging artists in Chicago’s Wicker Park/Bucktown area. Theater, performance, spoken word, dance, music, film and video, and visual art are all represented in the 16th annual edition of this festival. Plays are presented at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division; Open End Gallery, 2000 W. Fulton; Wicker Park, 1425 N. Damen; and Pritzker Elementary School, 2009 W. Schiller. Dance is at the Vittum Theater, 1012 N. Noble. Music and spoken-word events take place at various venues as listed below. Admission to theater performances is $7 per show or $15 for an entire evening, unless otherwise indicated. (A weekend theater pass, available on Friday only, costs $10.) Visual art exhibits include group shows at the Flat Iron Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee; at 1542 and 1608 N. Milwaukee; and at the Wicker Park field house, 1425 N. Damen, plus smaller displays at neighborhood businesses and artists’ studios (see Critic’s Choice).
